Tutorial Description:

Learn how to design an amazing professional web menu.

This is the finished product from this tutorial:

I am going to show step by step how to do it. First, create a new layer, call it “body”, with the rectangular marquee tool (M), make a selection and fill it with black.

Now let’s apply some styles to it. Right click of the mouse on the body layer, and choose “Blending Options…”

Apply the following styles:

Now create a new layer and make a purple square again with the Rectangular Marquee Tool.

Change it’s mode to multiply and it’s opacity to 64%

Now, use the “Custom Shape Tool (U)” (I’m using Photoshop CS for the tutorial), and choose the following shape.

You can also “draw” a shape if you want using for example the Polygonal lasso tool (L).

Get this shape selection (ctrl+click it’s layer), then fill it with #BBBBBB color.

Now, lets add some text (Horizontal type tool [T])! I used the Verdana font, with the color #626262

We are done! Now just duplicate everything (you can put everything in one layer folder and only duplicate the layer folder) to finish your menu.

I hope that you enjoyed the tutorial.
